The first 17 years were spent working within a business function before venturing officially into HR. This developed a core skill that facilitates a real understanding of business issues, management and people, translating those findings into HR/ Recruitment deliverables.

  • Headed International HR Division of all Mergers and Acquisitions within EMEA, and directed and managed the due diligence and integrations. Led the global HR project teams through 7 EMEA acquisition and JV cycles and 5 subsequent integrations across 10 European countries. Annual turnovers ranging from $640k to $20m.

  • Created and managed large-scale international recruitment and retention strategies. These included the appointment of Country Management structures and International Executive Directors.

  • Modernised a historically administrative HR function evolving it into a strategic business partner with a seat at the management table.

  • Expanded a growing, privately owned, UK company into the US by closing key £1m+ contract with Top 5 Global investment bank, to act as a cornerstone to opening business units in the US. Once the company was established a team was built utilising local and European talent, successfully gaining 3 H1B visas.

  • Redesigned HR recruitment end-to-end processes and procedures averting the loss of a key client contract, value £30m.

  • Recruited EMEA IT Management Team (VP to manager level) at a Fortune 250 company enabling it to deliver against new business objectives.

  • Led 350 downsizing exercise in Holland in Global Telecoms company, 600+ in UK for Fortune 250 company.

  • Successfully re-shaped corporate business model to meet International business plans ensuring delivery of the correct core HR functions and tools: Compensation & Benefits, recruitment, policy definition and implementation, employment law, management development and HR Information Systems.

 
Family and friends oriented individual with homes in UK and France who enjoys cycling, F1 and champagne. Currently serving as a Justice of the Peace.
