John de Lavis


John de Lavis has almost thirty years of experience in retail banking and payment systems. He spent the early part of his career at Midland Bank before moving to HSBC where he had responsibility at various times for overseeing the global cards
businesses, emerging technologies areas and then P&L responsibility for the UK payment businesses.
He then moved to MasterCard in the USA, where he was responsible for running global franchise operations before becoming Chief Product Officer. At this stage, John’s responsibilities included product development and management of MasterCard’s global credit and corporate/small business products, US bill pay business (RPPS) and information products.


He has spent the last few years as COO of NetSpend in Austin Texas, the pre-eminent pre-paid organisation in the US where responsibilities have included Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Card Operations, Business Intelligence, Products and International Development.

John is a graduate of Cambridge University and MIT and sits on the Advisory Board of Fordham Business School. He is a keen skier and lives with his wife and two daughters on the East Coast, US where he continues to faithfully support Bath rugby club. As an existing non executive Director of Greenings, we
are delighted to welcome John to the team. His trans global experience of the sector will undoubtedly provide a huge asset for the development of the business worldwide.
